Matmos:
Based in Baltimore, Matmos is Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt. The two have been making music as Matmos since 1997, first in San Francisco, and then relocating to Baltimore in 2007 when Daniel began to teach at Johns Hopkins University. They are respected, innovative auteurs in the world of electronic music and sampling culture whose very first album was hailed as “entering electronics Valhalla” by the WIRE magazine for sampling highly unusual sound sources such as the amplified nerve tissue of crayfish.
Matmos have collaborated with a wide array of artists across media and distinct disciplines. A partial list of musical collaborators includes: Bjork, The Kronos Quartet, Terry Riley, Marshall Allan (Sun Ra Arkestra), So Percussion, Anohni, Yo La Tengo, The Rachel’s, Oneohtrix Point Never, Jefferson Friedman, Zeena Parkins, J.G. Thirlwell, Jeff Carey, Wobbly, David Tibet, and Mouse On Mars. The diversity of this list, comprising internationally celebrated pop stars, minimalist composers, giants of jazz and indie rock and innovative improvisers and electronic musicians, indicates the range across genres and musical scenes that has been the hallmark of Matmos’ varied and mercurial career

Electric Delights:
The musician, performance artist and lyricist Karo Preuschl is an active figure in the Viennese art and culture scene. In addition to her work for the theatre and as a poet, she is known as a solo musician under the moniker Coco Bechamel and MC Rine and from duos such as Koenigleopold, Snake Boots and Wien Diesel. As Karo Preuschl, she presents abysmal modular synth vocal noise improvisations, testing out the full frequency spectrum. Immediacy, spontaneity and originality meet uncompromisingness and charming wit.
Billy Roisz is one of the best-known figures on the Austrian experimental scene. Her ability to translate experimental music into visual memory images is particularly noteworthy, revealing borrowings from minimal art and conceptual art. She specializes in feedback video and video/sound interaction by using monitors, cameras, video mixingdesks, a selfbuilt videosynth, computer, a bass guitar and sometimes turntables for video and sound generating.
Isabella Forciniti, a sound artist from Italy based in Vienna, is deeply entrenched in a diverse range of artistic pursuits, embracing performance, composition, research, and innovation. Her music and live performances traverse the spectrum that stretches from meticulously crafted arrangements to impromptu improvisation. Throughout this artistic journey, she adroitly wields a toolkit of fragmented yet rhythmically captivating beats, intricate manipulations of spatial perceptions, and intriguing psychoacoustic phenomena.
