TWIN TOOTH
Twin Tooth
are vocalist and lyricist Anna Kohlweis and multi-instrumentalist Jan Preissler. Founded during the earlypandemic months in Vienna and Berlin, the band existed exclusively via online file transfer for the entire production of their debut album, „Cusp“, a record dressed in a veneer of epic pop music that unfolds itself slowly down to the avantgarde structures at its core.

Lisa Teichmann (Lisa Pulsatilla) is a flutist, electronic musician, translator, and literary scholar. She has participated in a number of co-creations, including creating the sound for George Fok's installation “Seeking Stillness” presented by Montreal's Phi Center in 2020, the soundtrack for Sarah Seené's documentary “Portrait de Pierre Bourgault” and, with Chittakone Baccam, the soundtrack for Guillaume Vallée's short film “are you haunted, daddy? (about anxiety)”. As a musician she is part of ShyGirls collective, Goodsine, and LoSignal (CKUT 90.3 FM). Her music has been released by Sound as Language, DMT records, Jeunesse Cosmique and Crochet Disque. Her music investigates the experience of the breath and trauma in the body, its vibratory release and healing music.
In her music Lisa explores the flute as a solo instrument in combination with hardware electronics and showcases the possibilities of its sound. The guiding theme is the interconnection between melody, drone, and harmony and their relationship to emotion, the body, trauma, and the breath.
"Fernweh" is an untranslatable German term that describes the longing for a faraway place.
This album is a palimpsest of ambient pieces I recorded in the past 5 years that speak to the feeling of suspense between longing for a place far away and home. It expresses my experiences moving to Canada and finding my sound here. - Pulsatilla
