Beyond the Beat is the debut album of Arthur Fussy/Modular Synthesizer and Judith Schwarz/Extended Drums. Both make up 2/3 of the group Other:M:Other whose debut album was released on Klanggalerie, and whose second album will follow soon. Arthur also works for the theatre, and Judith plays in many bands, amongst others Gina Schwarz's Pannonica, Mel*E, PRCDR with Manu Mayr, ChuffDrone and Little Rosies Kindergarten. Beyond the Beat is a rhythmic affair. Where does a beat start? When do the brain and conscience recognize a pattern? How abstract can a beat be to still be recognizable by the listener? Is rhythm a melody? Beyond the Beat explore the borders of rhythm and beat in a symbiosis of acoustic and electronic sounds. Get into their groove and marvel at the players virtuosity. Das Trio P:Y:G, bestehend aus Robert Pockfuß (E-Gitarre), Alex Yannilos (Schlagzeug, Elektronik) und Jakob Gnigler (Tenorsaxophon), spielt seit 2015 improvisierte Musik, angesiedelt zwischen Neuer Musik, Jazz-core und Noise. Die herkömmlichen Funktionen der Instrumente werden durch gegenseitige Imitation aufgelöst. Spröde, staccatodurchsetzte Soundfetzen, polyrhythmische Strukturen mit einfachen Melodien, brachial ausreißende Lärmwände oder Drones werden auf eine wundersam, skurrile Art Teil einer P:Y:G-typischen schnelllebigen Klangkulisse.
